Employer Nomination Scheme Subclass 186
The Subclass 186 is a permanent residency visa.
This visa involves a two steps process:
Nomination Application
In this stage the business operation and the positions offered are reviewed. Requirements for the nomination are:
- The nominate occupation must be on Medium and Long Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
- Market salary rate for the position must be met
- Labour market testing must be undertaken
- Skilling Australians Fund: Employers must make a contribution to the Skilling Australians Fund
Visa Application
Visa can be obtained through three possible pathways:
Temporary Residence Transition (TRT): For applicants who have worked with the sponsoring employer on a 482 visa in an occupation listed on the Medium to Long term List for the last three years. Requirements:
- The occupation must be on MLTSSL
- No skills assessment is required
- Have at lest competent English (Ielts 6 in each band or equivalent)
- Age limit is 45
- Minimum 3 years with the sponsoring employer
- Meet the health requirement
- Meet the character requirement
Direct Entry Stream: For applicants who are seeking employment through a nomination by an employer that has a genuine need for a skilled worker in a permanent and ongoing position. Requirments:
- The occupation must be on MLTSSL
- Have at least 3 years of experience relevant work experience
- Have relevant skill, qualifications and work experience
- Have a relevant skill assessment
- Have at lest competent English (Ielts 6 in each band or equivalent)
- Be under 45 years of age
- Meet the health requirement
- Meet the character requirement
